The Texas Boot Company was founded in 2010 by a husband and wife duo on a simple concept: Western wear at a fair price with a comfortable fit. Native Texan Marc Conselman and wife Shelly found the ideal spot to build the biggest little Western store in Bastrop to set a new standard in service, selection, and quality with an unwavering commitment to the community at large. Bastrop, nestled in the "heart of the lost pines" on the banks of the Colorado River, is known for its beautiful historic homes, boutique shopping and one-of-a-kind eateries, as well as its natural beauty and gracious hospitality. History may have unfairly overlooked this idyllic spot, which was barely beat out by Austin to be the governing seat of a new Texas republic in the 19th century. But generations of folks in the area have never lost that pioneering spirit. And today (among other many other notable achievements) its destiny has been secured as "The Better Fittin' Boot Capital of Texas". SM The Texas Boot Company is true to our cowboy heritage and reflects the Lone Star spirit by offering authentic, quality merchandise to fit the needs of our friends and neighbors. A Lifelong Dream Come True Most people say just by looking at them that you can tell Marc and Shelly were made for each other. Soon after they met, these sweethearts started making plans to help turn their shared dream into a reality. Marc wasn't born in Bastrop County, but he got here as fast as he could. In fact, it's been his dream to live here since he was a boy--and that's no tall tale. In fact, it was under the watchful eyes of Big Tex at the Texas State Fair that Marc's dad let the family vote on if they would move to Smithville to start a new life chapter or stay in Irving. Young Marc was all set on growing up on a farm. He'd spent summers and spring breaks on his uncle’s horse farm in Elgin and wanted land to roam free and a horse of his own. But most of all he wanted a pet pig. Although Marc’s still looking for that pet pig, you might find the couple's bird dog Beauxregard in the store from time to time.
